Quick overview of my recent creative work.
Peter is a people-centric video producer who specializes in a variety of emotionally-driven content.
If it's alright with you I'm going to switch into the first person.
I tried my hand at many careers before walking into my local public access television station on a whim. Something clicked while touring their studio. As the station manager was explaining the lighting grid, I blurted out “I’m in! Sign me up!" From there, I took every class they offered, started a satirical talk show, and got particularly into video editing. Soon after, I quit my day job, went all-in on being a video producer, and my passion continues almost a decade later.
I'm at home working with small teams and as a one person band. I love to find creative ways to communicate each video’s theme. My skills are wide-ranging with my specialties being editing and directing (though I love to shoot as well).
In addition to my video work, I’m passionate about creating community events around media. In 2017, I founded the Weird Local Film Festival - an oddball short film showcase designed to bring local filmmakers together. At my most recent full-time role as the Executive Producer of the Make Media Workshop at Cambridge Community Television (CCTV), I organized community productions, work-in-progress screenings, production support groups and created the bulk of CCTV's in-house video content.
I'm also a passionate educator and have been teaching media production classes for over 5 years. I have supervised and mentored dozens of adolescent filmmakers.
At my core: I love media, I love community building, and I am completely dedicated to the intersection of the two.
In 2017, I founded the Weird Local Film Festival, a hyper-local showcase of odd films made by the Greater Boston area. During my tenure as festival director, we have held 26 events (6 virtual), presented over 300 films, & the festival has been attended by thousands of people.
